On the 10th December 2021 Saint-Gobain Building Distribution Ltd exchanged contracts to sell Bassetts to Wolseley UK.
The sale does not affect your ability to continue to trade with Bassetts – we continue to operate as normal.
Wolseley UK is an independent specialist distributor of plumbing, heating and sanitary ware with 542 branches, three distribution centres and 5,000 employees. It was purchased in February 2021 by Private Equity investment company CD&R and is now focused on growing its distribution business in the UK.
This sale is part of Saint-Gobain’s strategy to actively re-shape the Group’s portfolio of businesses to create more focus on the businesses, markets and expertise needed in the Group to support its new purpose to Make the World a Better Home and become the leader in light and sustainable construction.
Following the exchange of contracts, we will be finalising all sale matters prior to completing the transaction on 28th February 2022; we will provide you with an update prior to completion.
Saint-Gobain will be providing ongoing support for a period of time to help ensure the successful and smooth transition of the business to Wolseley UK and ensure there is no disruption for customers.
